Eunice Van der Linden

Artist

My plein air paintings reflect my love of the great outdoors. I’m enticed by the interplay of color and light, After establishing the composition, I get to play with color, adding and subtracting until the painting comes together. Mostly self-taught, I’ve enhanced my skills and knowledge through artist workshops & retreats.

Although I considered a career in art while in college, I got my degree in computer science, and worked for several years in Silicon Valley as an engineer. It was exciting and very demanding work, but left little time for art. When the tech bubble burst, I found I couldn’t go back to an office and took up painting, first watercolors and then oils.

I was born and raised on a farm in North Dakota, but have lived most of my adult life in northern California. I currently live in the Santa Cruz Mountains with my husband and our menagerie of pets.
